FIELD DAY 2007 @ KA2BEO It was great to see Dan, KA2BMI and his family this year at the Old Barney Amateur Radio Club (OBARC) Field Day site. The setup was at Wells Mills County Park in Waretown, NJ. We even caught a Bluegill in the park pond during the event on Saturday, 06/23/2007. We didn't get to stay long, but logged a few points for the club, operating as N2OB (and N2CW for the GOTA station) with a 3A-SNJ exchange. Natalie worked W8TN in MI and W4DW in NC on 40m SSB using the GOTA station. There were 111 GOTA contacts overall. The entire operation was very nice back at the original park. One photo shows Bob from a local FM radio station operating live in a remote mobile unit. During our ride home, we heard Dan and other Hams being interviewed at the event by the local FM radio station (WYRS), during the Gene Shepard show on 90.7 FM. The traffic going toward the event was heavy, but the returning traffic was stand-still for 8 miles. We had to take an alternate route home. We camped out that night in the backyard, but only listened around on the bands, without transmitting. We were too tired to do any operating on Sunday, but did enjoy the weekend overall. 73, Rob (KA2BEO).
